There are three levels through which choristers progress through at their own pace before being promoted:

  • Semplice

This level is the entry level to Choir Victoria. Here new choristers are introduced to basic choral music. They play musically oriented games and rehearse fun and easy music. They perform at all of Choir Victoria's concerts. Choristers in Semplice are periodically assesed for promotion to the Intrada (intermediate) Choir.

  • Cantabile

Cantabile level is a place where choristers broaden their musical knowledge. They are split into groups of altos, sopranos, tenors and baritones. They perform at all Choir Victoria concerts and attend camps.  They are also invited to perform at public and private events. The Cantabile choir can sing music that is up to six parts and sometimes sing music in other languages. As part of the Cantabile choir, there is a compulsory weekend camp twice a year where the choristers have intense rehearsals. As a requirement of being in the performing choir, Cantabile choristers are expected to attend no less than 80% of scheduled rehearsals for the year.

  • I Giovani

The I Giovani choir is made up of Choristers who are over 18 years of age, and have been a member of Choir Victoria through the Semplice and Cantabile levels.

I Giovanni manage their one repertoire, and rehearse separately to Choir Victoria, however are still included in Concerts and Performances.

Promotion within Choir Victoria is merit based on vocal ability, maturity and commitment.  It is not based on age.
